Egad!! Season 2 of Carnivale was freaking brilliant! If they make me wait another year and a half for Season 3 I'm going to be aaaaaaaaangry...

I left work yesterday and things were fine. I got home from work and my computer was royally screwed. The parents absolutely insist that they didn't do anything. But I shouldn't' be too bothered by their insistence upon innocence. The entire point of malware is that it gets in when you don't realize it, obviously. I'm just happy I was able to get rid of it - even though it took until 3:30am to fix. Things are running fine right now, but I'm almost scared to leave for work. But I shouldn't be irrational - yesterday was just some bad luck, right?

My cousins sent us a CD brimming with pictures and videos of Cuba goodness. They've also given me permission to post, so I'll be taking the opportunity in the coming days to upload a few of those shots. I think the important thing right now is to figure out where the hell I put the CD.

Colin made me download The Servant - Cells (lyric version, not instrumental) and I must say it's a very cool tune. I recommend everyone go give it a listen.

Carnivale on Sunday was excellent as always - very tense and really sets things up for the final battle next week. I saw a preview for next Sunday, and the entire way through my face must have been frozen in some sort of visage attempting to convey numerous emotions. Not the least of which including some sort of manifestation of the all-consuming need I feel to witness what will doubtless be one of the greatest finales I've ever partook of. It looks that good. Only 5 more days...

Note: I just found the CD of pictures - life is good.

In the Royal Botanical Gardens - Hamilton Posted by Hello

Well I've been back at work all week, it's good to have cashflow again :). There's a job opening back on the moulds, and John told me today that he wants me to sign the sheet. Since John is the one who dictates positions, I assume if I were to sign it, I would have the job. It's a dollar raise over what I'm making now - but I'm not so sure I'm interested. First - is I'd pretty much be guaranteed to be stuck working midnights for the rest of forever. Second is, well, I not terribly interested in working with the people back there. I'm comfortable right now, I make a good wage, work a shift I like, and with people I like.

In other news - my mom broke her finger playing volleyball. She has to see a specialist on Friday because it may need to have a pin inserted into the finger to heal and become properly functional again. She thinks it may not have been damaged to bad if she hadn't kept playing for an hour after she injured it in the first place. Silly old woman.

I've been bad lately. I haven't written much, but to be honest - I just haven't had a lot to say. I could express my own disappointment over ManU's result against Milan, but it's done and gone now. Besides, the Red Devils just came back with a powerful 4-0 win over Southampton in their FA Cup sixth round fixture.

I've spent the last week just...chillin, I suppose. I've logged my time at the gym, spent some good hours gaming, as well as watching episodes of Carnivale on the computer. Today I helped Wayne in the basement, and set up a network at Amber's house. It was a little more trouble than it should have been, but I'm happy I got it running without any major frustrations.

I'd also like to send some big props to the brother, for moving on to better things :).

And this is both Lauren and Liam in their hockey gear. The greatest niece and nephew combo ever, even though Liam has a bad habit of hitting me in the nuts.  Posted by Hello

This is my niece Lauren - all suited up and ready for her hockey practice. Isn't she cute!? Posted by Hello

I've returned from Winnipeg - and I'm happy to say I had a great time!

First thing I did upon arriving Tuesday afternoon was to drag Danny to Future Shop where I bought him an early birthday present - an Altec Lansing 5.1 Surround Sound system for his computer. He seems very happy with it :). Tuesday night I went to see a Ragnarok soccer game - and let me tell you, it was one of those kinds of matches that only Ragnarok can provide. The final result was a disappointing 2-2, but they were both lucky and unlucky to come out with a tie - such as it is.

Wednesday met up with Cory and Sandy, and then that evening played some hockey. I hadn't played in over a year, and my rust was apparent. Not helping was my screwed up shoulder, which made it near impossible to shoot, let alone handle the puck well - engaging in said actions caused severe pains, such as to serve as a strong suggestion to avoid shooting again - almost. Pain doesn't really stop a true player - just slows them down at times.

Thursday we raced our 1.8L Sentra rental car against Darcy's lightly modded 3.8L Grand Prix GTP. It was funny. We already knew the Sentra was a gutless hunk of crap, but it was really funny even trying to accelerate on the highway. I've never driven a car with so little go starting at 100. But I suppose I was spoiled by having a powerhouse 2.8L Corsica as my first car. And I must say, coming back to the 3.4L Grand Am was a nice breath of fresh air. It's not that I really expected anything out of the Sentra - it's just funny that it did such a great job of meeting all my low expectations. Solid, though.

That evening we went to Shabusen - the greatest Mongolian cuisine restaurant in the city.

Friday was Sandy's birthday (Woo!) so we went to Mongo's Grill for dinner. Afterwards I picked up Dan and went to an 80's themed social in Crescentwood with Colin, Lina and Burton. It was a good time.

Saturday I saw Lauren play hockey - cute :). Spent the day with James and Elena checking out their new digs and wandering Corydon Ave. For the evening I got a big crew together and we met at Triple B's. Along with James and I, the night included Barrett, Burton, Cory, Sandy, Heidi, and her brother with his girlfriend. Unfortunately, for the first time ever, I was put on hold for a very long time (waiting for a pool table to open). In fact, we waited a full hour and a half before finally deciding “screw this”. We hit Boston Pizza instead, and had a good evening.

Sunday we got everything ready for departure, drove around a bit in the ugly weather, went to the mall (Planned on taking the kids sledding at garbage hill, but the weather wasn't friendly enough), and departed on time at 8:05. We arrived in Toronto 15 minutes early at 11:15. Thank you Westjet.

Overall, a very busy and fabulous holiday - and considering I'm still laid off, I wish I had stayed an extra week!

I'm looking forward to making my way back this summer though - By then the interior in the Camaro will be done and the prospect of taking that beautiful car out on cruise night is simply too much to resist.
