I've returned from
First thing I did upon arriving Tuesday afternoon was to drag Danny to Future Shop where I bought him an early birthday present - an Altec Lansing 5.1 Surround Sound system for his computer. He seems very happy with it :). Tuesday night I went to see a Ragnarok soccer game - and let me tell you, it was one of those kinds of matches that only Ragnarok can provide. The final result was a disappointing 2-2, but they were both lucky and unlucky to come out with a tie - such as it is.
Wednesday met up with Cory and Sandy, and then that evening played some hockey. I hadn't played in over a year, and my rust was apparent. Not helping was my screwed up shoulder, which made it near impossible to shoot, let alone handle the puck well - engaging in said actions caused severe pains, such as to serve as a strong suggestion to avoid shooting again - almost. Pain doesn't really stop a true player - just slows them down at times.
Thursday we raced our 1.8L Sentra rental car against Darcy's lightly modded 3.8L Grand Prix GTP. It was funny. We already knew the Sentra was a gutless hunk of crap, but it was really funny even trying to accelerate on the highway. I've never driven a car with so little go starting at 100. But I suppose I was spoiled by having a powerhouse 2.8L
That evening we went to Shabusen - the greatest Mongolian cuisine restaurant in the city.
Friday was
Saturday I saw Lauren play hockey - cute :). Spent the day with James and Elena checking out their new digs and wandering
Sunday we got everything ready for departure, drove around a bit in the ugly weather, went to the mall (Planned on taking the kids sledding at garbage hill, but the weather wasn't friendly enough), and departed on time at 8:05. We arrived in
Overall, a very busy and fabulous holiday - and considering I'm still laid off, I wish I had stayed an extra week!
I'm looking forward to making my way back this summer though - By then the interior in the Camaro will be done and the prospect of taking that beautiful car out on cruise night is simply too much to resist.
