It's been a little while since I last updated. I'd have to say the primary reason I haven't done so is because I haven't been at the internet cafe as much as before. Mainly because I built a computer for home, and now my free time is spent gaming - much like back in Canada.

So, as for activities over the past few weeks. I went to RiverFire in downtown Brisbane. I was hoping for something to impress me more than the Disneyland fireworks - and I wasn't disappointed. Thirty Five minutes of sensory bliss! I can see why these fireworks draw more people than any other event in the year - including the New Year's and Australia Day fireworks. I didn't take any pictures of the fireworks themselves, but I did take a crapload of video.

Last week saw me celebrate my 25th birthday. It was on a Wednesday so there wasn't much we could do that day other than Kerryn and Greg stop by the apartment for a visit. On the weekend Kathryn took me to a day spa for a relaxing 1 hour full body massage as well as another hour to relax in a private hot tub and sauna. That evening we went ice skating with Kerryn, Greg and a few other folks. This time, my skates were actually sharpened so I was able to navigate the ice with at least a marginal degree of efficiency.

Sunday saw the four of us take a drive out to Mt Mee. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad, so the views were a little shrouded. Then, to make things worse, the restaraunt we were planning to visit was booked out for a wedding - effectively dashing our hopes of enjoying any of our actual plans. So instead we went up to Sunshine Coast to the Hog's Breath Cafe, had lunch, then went bowling. That evening, Kathryn and I headed over to Prima Vera for dinner with her family - who treated me with cake and booze for my birthday. I was immensely pleased.

That about brings us up to speed, so I'll get with the picture posting and be done with it.

Brisbane City, about 45 minutes before the fireworks. Taken from South Bank.

Here's a friend that decided to come join us for lunch. They're pretty skittish though, mere moments before another one took a leap off the deck about 12 feet to land on the rocks simply because another person walked past it.

Chilling out at Rainesforest - the day spa I went
to on Saturday.

I couldn't go without posting a couple pictures of the machine I built! So here it is! Exterior to the left...

And interior to the right. It may not look totally 'pro', but it's pretty decent I think.
