ill Nino's latest album, One Nation Underground is slated for released tomorrow, September 27th. I've had the opportunity to listen to the album in its entirely and I'd just like to say that for anyone that enjoys hard rock it is DEFINITELY worth your money. I've never regretted buying an ill Nino album, and they've delivered once again, reinforcing their position as one of my top 5 favorite bands.

Anyone who needs further convincing can go download the first single - What You Deserve.

I had to do it - The Revolution controller really, really looks like a sex toy!

Nintendo has unveiled the controller for it's next-generation Revolution console.

I have to say, Nintendo has never lacked ideas, or the guts to follow through on those ideas. Sometimes it works (Game Boy, DS - started bad, but now going strong), and sometimes it turns out to be an utter waste of time (Virtual Boy!!!). At this point, the new controller falls smack dab in the middle, it seems interesting, but do I really want to be gaming with a controller that looks and (likely) feels 99% like my dvd remote? They say the Revolution will have some backwards compatibility (Will it be like gaming with the old square NES controller? Now that's true retro!) - and that the controller has a slot for add-ons for increased functionality. Woo! Something else to spend money on, we'll need a bin to pile all the extra parts!

Knowing Nintendo, it'll start off slow because developers will have no damn idea what to do with the system, and the only good games will be the ones Nintendo creates on its own. They've always been kind of selfish that way ;). In the end, the Revolution won't have near the market share owned by the PS3 and 360, but it will definitely have it's niche. And in this business that guarantee can be as good as gold.

I just watched Advent Children, and damn - I'm not even familiar with the FF story but that was a pretty kick ass movie. Word is the NA release is this winter, so if you can't wait till then, translated versions are available for download all over the place. It's well worth a viewing.

A heck of a lot better than that The Spirits Within crap that came out a few years back.

Look what's been going on, just around this continent lately. Tragedy in the south - a disturbing lack of response co-ordination, and a frightful descent into the proverbial base state of mankind. It can still raise eyebrows, even now, witnessing the behaviors exhibited by a percentage of people when confronted with events like we saw in New Orleans. Not necessarily a reversal of moral evolution, but perhaps a statement that maybe that evolution never actually occurred.

Does the fact that so many are reduced to looting, rape and murder when confronted with crisis illustrate that our society is merely window dressing to the base carnal nature that honestly hasn't changed one bit in the last few thousand years? It's sad to think so.

I turned 24 today. I went golfing at RiverEdge yesterday in celebration, and played an absolutely terrible round. Went to The Keg for supper last night, had a New York striploin steak.

Today I'm headed into PF early for a few hours of overtime. Birthday or no, the work doesn't stop.
