Best in the World - Again!!!

Canada crushed the Russians tonight 6-1 to win the Gold medal in the World Junior Hockey Championships.

CBC.ca summed up Canada's overall performance best with this quote here: "Canada now has no peer in international hockey, having won the men's, women's and junior men's world championships as well as both the men's and women's Olympic tournaments over the past year."

Canada absolutely dominated the opposition throughout the tournament, going 6-0 while scoring 41 goals and allowing only 7. The defense was absolutely amazing, providing excellent coverage at the back, stifling attempts to get at the Canadian goal and playing backbone to the powerful offense. There was not a single game in the tournament when Canada held less than a 15 shot advantage - and most games the difference was far more than that.

So, it's great news for Canadians, with players like these - we know there's a bright, bright future for Canadian hockey. Can't wait for next year in Vancouver!
