Saw the game today, and it turned out to just be a piss off. The teams played an even enough first period, followed by complete Canadian domination in the second. The third started off great, then the US scored a good goal off a 3 on 2 to pull within one, scored another goal that bounced off Fleury and over his head into the net to tie the game. Then, in a mistake that will take a long time for the Canadian goalie to live down - Fleury attempted to play the puck and flipped it straight into his own defender, bouncing it back into the Canadian net. It's hockey, mistakes happen, but what a terrible time to get such an unlucky bounce. That blooper reel product turned out to be the game winner. It's a crappy way to go. But that's how sports go, results don't always come the way you wish they would've.

So we decided to go out and play some hockey - it had warmed up from -41, to -39. Where others saw frostbite, we saw opportunity. The first rink we visited was closed up, apparently the City of Winnipeg has a rule that if the temperature is below -28, the rinks should be closed to prevent kids getting frostbite and suing. Happily though, we eventually found a rink to play on. So all was good. It wasn't even cold, probably because I had about 4 layers of clothes on.

Today's INotD is: Smutmonger. As in "Hey you perv! Yeah you! Bloody smutmonger!"
