The English Premier League is under way once again, and this first weekend turned out more or less to expectations. The big three all came out with victories, though I would argue Man U had the most stout opponent in Everton (Although Wigan Athletic did come out with a very strong performance against Chelsea - Welcome to the Premiership). Ruud and Rooney netted for the Reds in a 2-0 victory - a fact that left me both pleased and annoyed. Annoyed because I was fool enough to neglect choosing either of them in my fantasy soccer pool (doh!).

I think Man Utd have a great chance of giving league favourites Chelsea (and Arsenal of course) a good run for the title this year. I'm really excited about Edwin Van der Sar playing for the Reds, it's about time Ferguson had a strong goalie to rely on every game. Rather unlike Howard and Carroll, the duo who fought over the starting position all of last year. The addition of Ji-Sung Park at midfield should also provide some extra speed to an already strong line of mids. Most importantly - both of United's top strikers are starting the season without injuries. If Ruud and Rooney can stay healthy all season, that could make all the difference in the world. Anyone who remembers last year recalls the stacked list of injured players.

In other news, I've been working like crazy and sleeping very little(Worked 13 of the last 14 days so far, lots of OT, and had a stretch of 6 days on 17hrs of sleep total). Thus the utter lack of blog posting over the past week. Jon was visiting, and we had some fun. Daniel our Mexican import headed back home on Saturday, shame, cause the little punk was starting to kinda grow on us. In truth he was a really good kid and we enjoyed hosting him for the month immensely. Looking forward to next time he comes up, preferably in the winter - I'd love to see that!
