So how many people have been paying attention to the NHL lately?

The action has been awesome - and the season hasn't even started! The $39 million salary cap is making for a really, really interesting preseason. Every day I'm hearding news about big names signing with new teams. The landscape of the league is changing - for the better!

First off is a big mother of a cheer for Naslund - who signed on to stay in Vancouver, WOO! (3yrs, $18 million)

Next, I'm thinking the Penguins are looking good, far better than they were at the end of of the 03-04 season (When they finished in last place). Crosby, Lemieux, Gonchar, Fleury ... building blocks for a solid season.

Yes, this year is going to be interesting, especially considering the new rules and the rust a lot of players will be working off. It may take a little while to really get started. As a result, I think there may be some surprises out the gate. Time will tell.

Oh, and Forsberg to the Flyers? wtf!?

Jaysin Here,

Naslund with the Canucks.. sweet
Tho' I'm gonna miss Sopel

Pronger on the Oilers.....
'Couver could take em on St. Louis
'Couver can take him on Edmonton.

I like seeing Iginla in Calgary. I may sound like a bandwagon jumper, but Calgary sure moved up a few notches in my favorite team book. Maybe to the point where they are my 3rd favorite team to watch.

Ottawa didnt need to improve, they'll still be good

Philly, Ill wait and see. If everybody stays healthy, itll be all good. If not.....

Games between Ottawa, Pittsburg and Tampa Bay may make me watch some games in the Eastern Conference this year.

And finally, the Western Conference, incredible. Who knows whats gonna happen. All I know is that their is a lot of damn good teams and only 8 playoff spots. Its gonna be good to see which teams bite the dust.

(And it doest even begin to cover the many other hockey stories. God i missed hockey last year.)
