It is a good day. Took the afternoon off work to goto Shawn's grad and follow that up with a evening of drinking and partying in Toronto. Should be a very good time :).
I saw what I consider a monumental waste of money this weekend. A Kia Rio with aftermarket rims/skirts/spoiler/muffles/paint work. This is truly inexcusable behavior, it's even worse than the fools who buy a 115hp Civic and slap on SiR badges pretending they have a car with balls. If I had anything to say to the owner of that car, it would be along the lines of: "It's a fucking Kia Rio - get your head out of your ass and go spend your money on a real car."
In other news, both the CPU and GPU wars are really heating up again. nVidea is set to release it's G70 chipset this month, with ATI following next month with the R520. The newest grouping of ATI chips is also equipped with ATI's CrossFire technology, to compete with nVidea's SLi.
Intel is also releasing it's Pentium D, as AMD ships it's X2 procs. Both are new-fangled dual-core goodness, and represent the next big step in home computing. From a technological perspective, it appears the X2 has a leg up over the Pentium D as a result of it's ability to use a crossbar for the two on-die cores to communicate, whereas the Pentium D architecture forces the two cores to communicate via the FSB. Looking forward to seeing some direct comparisons between the two soon.
It doesn't surprise me that the X2 sports a more refined design - because we all know AMD is the shizzle ;).
