Big game in 3 hours! It looks like Brodeur's injury is going to keep him out of the semi-final. That sucks pretty hard, cause he's obviously one of the best goalies in the world. Roberto Luongo though, is also world class, and if Brodeur does pull out, no doubt Team Canada is still safe with a backstopper like him.

The Fins beat the United States in action last night. I must echo the sentiments of fellow blogger Matt in this respect. It's a shame, because in the event that Canada beats the Czech's tonight (Sure as hell hope so!) a Canada-Finland matchup just doesn't have the same tension and competitiveness as a Canada-USA matchup. Canada's primary hockey rivalries are more along the lines of USA, Russia, and Czech Republic. I still remember the day the Canuck-turned-Yankee traitor Brett Hull dashed Canada's first place hopes in the final game of the last World Cup of Hockey. It would have been sweet, sweet revenge to meet again in the final this year and pull out a victory - just like at Salt Lake City. Of course, that doesn't mean a Canada - Finland final wouldn't be a great game to watch - it sure as hell would!

Tonights game though, should have enough rivalry to please everyone. I don't think a single hockey fan in Canada has forgotten the disastrous shootout loss in the semi's against the Czech's in Nagano. Tonight is the perfect opportunity to exorcise those 6 year old demons. So, with that in mind - GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
